Well – I’ve gone and done it! Apollo and I are booked in with Nettie Barr for her June 5-8 clinic in Grand Prairie. We haven’t done an “away from home” clinic ever and haven’t done a clinic at all in several years. This particular clinic is a ground training clinic. I figured that would be a good venture for our first “away from home” clinic. I will see how the first clinic goes and will possibly try the riding clinics later in the summer or next spring/summer.
Here it is!:
I’ve asked Nettie a lot of questions and I’m trying not to be too annoying! We chatted for quite a while on the phone (which I greatly appreciated). I have to confirm trailering arrangements with Greg but even if he isn’t available I will figure something out.
I am still considering the Wild Deuce ground clinic that’s on the second last weekend of May (24/25/26 I believe). We still have to figure out our exact honeymoon plans before I put a deposit cheque in for that one. The Wild Deuce ground clinic is a requirement before the mountain train course that runs mid-July (a BIG dream of mine!). I wanted to go last year but ended up with a wedding on both weekends. Now my silly self has booked my own wedding super close to the clinic date.
There are a few clinics run by my farrier (Success with Horses) that I’m considering as well. I would like to audit a few clinics/shows as well. I’m hoping that I will have a bit more job security by May and will be able to stop working at the stable on the weekends. I actually love working there, its great exercise and just love being around horses. But I need to concentrate on my own herd/goals this year.
Here's to many happy trails and adventures for Apollo and I!
